My law office focuses
on helping my clients deal with federal, state
and local agency permitting and enforcement
actions. My background includes assignments
as an urban planner in Grand Rapids, Michigan
and Miami Beach, Florida; staff attorney and
rule-drafter for the St. Johns River Water
Management District; special counsel to St.
Johns County; and the cities of Port Orange,
Daytona Beach Shores, Orange City and Flagler
Beach; and contract city attorney for Oak
Hill, Florida.
During my years of practice,
I’ve represented properties from a single
lot to over 50,000 acres. I’ve handled
wetlands and drainage permits; landfill operation
and closure; water and wastewater treatment
plants (permitting and enforcement); annexations;
comprehensive plan amendments; rezonings;
and developments of regional impact.
My goal for my clients is
to help them form a consultative relationship
with agency regulators, rather than an adversarial
one. When that cannot be done, I do not hesitate
to challenge government actions in court or
before an administrative law judge.
As businesspeople, my clients
need to understand the most expeditious, economical
means to satisfy regulators. It would be my
privilege to make this analysis for you, the
next time government comes to call.
